Norwegian Wood Film Poster Competition

Scade il 28 Febbraio 2011.

Norwegian Wood, a new film adapted from the bestselling Haruki Murakami novel and featuring an original score by Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood, opens in cinemas nationwide on 11th March 2011.

If you think you have what it takes to produce a film poster that will attract audiences then this competition is for you.

For concept ideas look at posters for films, books, records and think about the audience being targeted and the mood captured.

Norwegian Wood is a story of love and heartbreak in a time of global instability. As students around the world are uniting to overthrow the establishment, Toru Watanabe’s personal life is similarly in tumult. At heart, he is deeply devoted to his first love, Naoko, a beautiful and introspective young woman. But their complex bond has been forged by a tragedy years before, until Midori, a girl who is everything that Naoko is not – outgoing, vivacious, supremely self-confident – marches into his life and Watanabe must choose between his past and his future.

Eligibility

Anyone worldwide.

The film poster must embody some characteristics from the book – ideally it will be visually led though typographic posters will also be considered. Finished artwork should be 30 x 20 inches, vertical, at 300dpi.

Prize

The top ten posters will be displayed in central London at the city’s flagship independent cinema – Curzon Soho – between March 4th and March 25th 2011.

The winning poster will be chosen by a panel that includes Norwegian Wood Director, Anh Hung Tran, Curzon Soho and esteemed film poster designers, All City, and will be rewarded with an official signed Norwegian Wood poster, a Murakami library, CD soundtrack from the film and a limited edition Stanley Donwood print, as well as having their artwork distributed in Don’t Panic packs nationwide.
